Mixed Media Teaser Day 6!

Hi there! We're up to the sixth day of Teasers from My Favorite Things and today we have some more goodness to share with you!

Head on over to the MFT Blog for all of the details and to find out how you can win big just for commenting!

So I did something I swore I would never do....Mixed Media. To be honest, I just didn't "get it". But after seeing what some of the MFT Design team has done with Mixed Media, I had to at least give it a try. So I made a card. Getting messy was kind of fun :)

I started with a piece of Mixed Media paper that I cut using the new Blueprints 4 Die-namics. I painted it with Gesso and when dry, added some modeling paste over drywall tape. When that was dry, I painted the entire surface with some Martha Stewart Putty paint. Over that I added some more modeling paste using the new Graduated Diamonds Stencil. That modeling paste is the coolest stuff. The diamonds have so much dimension! The layer under the roses was cut with one of the rectangular dies from Blueprints 1.  It was stamped with the new Art Expression Text background in Kraft Ink.

The roses are from Mona's new set, Blooming Roses and the Rose Bouquet Die-namics. They were stamped in Kraft Ink and then in Hot Fudge.  The leaves were stamped in Sour Apple. The sentiment is from Peaceful Wildflowers and was stamped on a Sentiment Strip in Hot Fudge Ink.

MFT June Teasers - Day 1!

Hi there and welcome to the June Teasers from My Favorite Things!  We have a FANTASTIC release this month! You won't want to miss a thing!

Head on over to the MFT Blog for all of the release details and to see how you can win big!!

Today I've got a card to share using Lisa Johnson's new set, Blissful Butterflies and Art Expression Text. L.O.V.E. They are both beautiful!  I've also used the coordinating Blissful Butterflies Die-namics,  the new Blueprints 4, Blueprints 3, Circle STAX Set 1, and the Open Scallop Doily Duo.

I stamped the butterflies in Bubblegum and Kraft inks. The script at the bottom is from the new Art Expression Text background set and was stamped in Bubblegum ink. I used my favorite wood grain stamp from Western Backgrounds in Bubblegum and Kraft inks.  The card stock I used is the new Primitive White.  The Open Scallop Doily was cut from vellum card stock because I wanted a really soft look to go with the shabbiness of my card. The butterflies were finished with some pink adhesive pearls.

Happy Birthday Bags and Tags {SSSC185}

Hi there everyone!  Long time no see :)  It's Sunday and time for the newest Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  I went a little off the beaten path today and used the sketch for some tags instead of a card.

It's been a couple weeks since I've last stamped and it felt so good to get inky!  You see I recently (like 5 months ago) went back to work and have been having a hard time managing my work/home/stampy time. I'm finally starting to feel settled and hope to work in more stamping time soon!

My youngest daughter had a birthday party to go to tonight for two of her friends, so instead of making two cards I decided to make two decorative tags for the gift bags that she could sign on the back.

You'll find a link to all of the products I used at the bottom of this post.

Here are the two tags before I added them to the bag. I am so not a purple person, but I LOVE it here!  I used a bunch of my favorite MFT goodies for these tags!

Here they are on the gift bags.  I REALLY didn't want to use the pink tissue because it didn't really match the pink tag, but my daughter insisted I had to use the pink tissue.  She didn't care that they didn't really match :)

Here is this week's sketch:
